This sentence expresses feelings of surprise, pity, wonder, sorrow, and wish. In these sentences, words like Hurrah, Alas, Ah, Oh, etc are used and an exclamation mark (!) is put either after these words or at the end of the sentence.

• Alas! You had failed.
