The two factors which are responsible for reduction in area for cultivation are described below :

1) Population Explosion

Nowadays, we can see heavy rise in population in an unexpected manner in our country. High number of people will need more area of land for building houses, factories, etc thus reducing area under cultivation. This is one of the human factor which is responsible for decrease of area under cultivation.

2) Soil problems

Soil erosion, logging of water, infertile lands, barren lands, are some of the problems of soil which do not have the capability of cultivation.
