QUESTION :-

Identify whether the given Expressions are Polynomials :-

(i) h(x) = \frac{4}{3} x^3 - x^2 - 3x + 7

(ii) k(y) = y^4 - \sqrt{3y^\frac{3}{2} } + y - 1

ANSWER :-

(i) The Polynomial h (x) is a Polynomial because all the Powers of the Bases are Non - Negative (Positive).

(ii) The Polynomial k (y) is not a Polynomial because in the Term - \sqrt{3y^\frac{3}{2} }, the Exponent is not a Whole Number. It is a Fraction.
