X = physical state of KClO3 , Y = Heat, Z = physical state of O2

The chemical reaction which involves the decomposition of potassium chlorate(KClO₃) in the presence of heat is shown below.

2KClO₃(s) + Heat (Y) → 2KCl(s) + 3O₂(g)

Here, the notations s stands for solid state and g stands for gaseous state.

These are nothing but the representations of the physical states of KClO₃ and O₂.

Thus x is solid y is heat and z is gas.
