Identifying the sources of pollution in water obtained from different sources.
Observation :
1. Check the colour of water. For example turbid water ay be cause by domestic waste or detergent. Red, lifeless water may have sewage and industrial waste.
2. Check the smell of water, does it smell of toxic matter or does it smell of sewage?
3. From the colour, smell and turbidity, mention and identify the cause of pollution.
4. Record your observation.

Water pollution can be observed in several levels:
Colour of water.
- This can be as a result of the soil erosion where the soil particles are washed down the water bodies and hence changes the colour of water which is normally colourless to brown and red .
- The sewage disposal to the rivers can as well introduced to the water bodies which has got strange particles which might lead to the colored water.
- Industrial waste such as chemical from sweet and food staff industrie can b released to water bodies hence causes the changes of water.
- It is observed that water can smell in a toxic manner and hence can be of very bad and dangerous to aquatic life.
- For instance if the observation is made where the aquatic animals dies then the pollution of the water is toxic.
