A habitation area was discovered by Rami Reddy 1978 on the eastern peak. The artifactul evidence in the form of ground stone tools and pottery from this site is very rich. A total of 134 ground and polished tools, 26 microlithic consisting of blades unifacial paints, lunates etc,and pottery of unburnished blotchy grey ware (incised) 14 saddle guerns were collected from this site. The rock art of this site is in the form of a solitary brushing of a pair of the humped bulls facing each other. They are located on a big granite boulder facing west. These brushings according to the investigator, are naturalistic unlike those of the found at the other sites Karnataka. The Velpumadugu bulls have long and slightly curved horns, which do not show the trifuracation, (three prongs )like those at Piklihal and Sanganakallu and there is no crossing of the heads showing the bull fighting a scene characteristic of the Piklihal Speecimeens. The brushing is ascribed to the Neolithic as the rock is close to Neolithic settlement (Rami Reddy 1971 78).
