It contains easily digestible stuff urad dal and powder (in telugu called as – idly rava) where as other foods like made with wheat flour cannot be easily digestible. Digestion is not so steadily done in a patient's body at the time of attack of the disease, so foods that are easily digestible are taken in.

3. It does not increase the blood sugar level in the body though the amount taken in is large.

4. It is pressure cooked. Generally, the foods that are prepared in pressure cooker have a better healthier value.

5. Idly reduces the risk of heart attack as it does not contain any fat products in it.
