time=1 min=60 secs,I=0.2 Ampere,R=100ohm

heat=I^2RT

=(0.2)^2*100*60

=0.04*100*60

=4*60

=240 JOULES

Explanation:

  • Now according to Joule’s law of heating we get
  • H eat generated h = I^2 x R x T where I is current, R is resistance of iron box, T is time in seconds.
  • So current I =  0.2 A, T = 1 minute = 1 x 60 secs and R = 100 ohms
  •         So H = (0.2)^2 x 100 x 60
  •              H = 0.04 x 100 x 60
  •              H = 0.04 x 6000
  •             H = 240 Joules
  • Therefore heat generated is 240 Joules.
