Given,

Frictional force (µ) = 0.40

Mass * acceleration due to gravity(mg) = 20 N

We know,

µN = mg

N = 20 / 0.40

N = 50

Now,

Force F to keep the box from falling = Normal Reaction F

                                                             = 50 N
