The amount of current will definitely depend on the type of motor which we are using.

It will varry for single phase and 3 phase.

Simply calculate the current and then you can get the idea how max it can take.

Starting current is 6 to 7 times the normal current. It is 2 to 4 times if one uses star delta starter.

For 0 5 hp dol starter will be used and so current will be 6 to 7 times.

For calculation

1 hp= 746 watt

Take v= 230 for single phase and 415 for three phase .

Formula which you can use is

VIcos phi for single phase and root 3 VIcos phi.

Cos phi you can take 0.8 to 0.85
