let say Numbers are A and B

0.8 of A  = 0.8A  = 8A/10  = 4A/5

1.44 of B  = 1.44B = 144B/100  = 36B/25

4A/5  =  36B/25

=> A = 9B/5

=> A/B = 9/5

=> A  : B = 9 : 5
