let the present age of Ravi be x

ATP

⇒3/7 *x +11/2=1/2 *x

⇒6x+77=7x         [LCM =14]

⇒77 =7x-6x

⇒77=x  present age of Ravi ANS

The present age of Ravi is 21.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the present age of Ravi be 's'.

1 \frac{1}{2} has to be first converted to an improper fraction. It becomes \frac{3}{2}

Now, according to the question, if we add\frac{3}{2} to\frac{3}{7}s then it will become half of his present age, s.

So, writing in equation form

\frac{3}{2} + \frac{3}{7}s = \frac{1}{2}s

Taking 's' terms together, we obtain,

\frac{3}{2}  = \frac{1}{2}s - \frac{3}{7}s

Now, taking LCM on the right-hand side

\frac{3}{2}  = \frac{7-6}{14}s

\frac{3}{2}  = \frac{1}{14}s

So, s becomes

s = \frac{14\times3}{2}

s = 21
