Answer:

x^2 + kx - 5/4

[ x = 1/2 ]

=> ( 1/2 )^2 + k( 1/2 ) - 5/4 = 0

=> 1/4 + k/2 - 5/4 = 0

=> ( 1 + 2k - 5 )/4 = 0

=> -4 + 2k = 0

=> 2k = 4

=> k = 4/2

=> k = 2

therefore the Value of k = 2

i think this is the answer...........I hope this helps u

Answer:

the value of k is 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: the root of given equation is 1/2 it means the value of x became also 1/2 .

Put the value x=1/2 in equation.

the given equation is quadratic because the dgree of given equation is 2

x^2 + kx - 5/4 = 0

(1/2)^2 + k1/2- 5/4 = 0

4 + 2k - 5/4 = 0

k = 4 + 2 - 5/4

k = 1/4 + 1/4 - 5/4

k = 1+1-5/4

k = 2
