If, (1,-2) is a solution to the equation,  2x-y = P,

then on putting the values of x and y as 1 and -2 respectively, the remainder must be 0.

Hence, substituting values for x and y,

=>2(1) - (-2)=P

=>2+2=P           (as [-] x [-] = +)

Hence, P=4
