Answer :

p = 4

Solution :

★ Given : 2x - y = p

★ To find : p = ?

Here ,

The given equation is ;

2x - y = p

It is given that , (1,-2) is a solution of the given equation .

Thus ,

The coordinates of the point (1,-2) must satisfy the given equation .

Now ,

Putting x = 1 and y = -2 in the given equation , we get ;

=> 2x - y = p

=> 2×1 - (-2) = p

=> 2 + 2 = p

=> 4 = p

=> p = 4

Hence ,

Required value of p is 4 .
