Hi !
P(x)= 2x²+kx +1
p(-1/2) = 0
i.e., x = -1/2
putting this value of x , in p(x)
2*(-1/2)² + k*-1/2 + 1 = 0
2*1/4 - k/2 + 1 = 0
1/2 - k/2 + 1 = 0
LCM = 2
(1 - k + 2)/2 = 0
1 - k + 2 = 0
-k = -3
k = 3
Hence , the value of k is 3
