THERE ARE SOME NUMERICAL VALUES FOR THAT  S0,,,,

    1 KG = 1000 GRAM

IN THIS QUESTION 1/2 KG MEANS = 1000/2 = 500 GRAM = 40 P

1 GRAM = 40 / 500 = 4 / 50

100 GRAM COST =  4/50 * 100 = 8 P

Given :

1/2kg of salt costs 40p

To Find :

find the cost of 100g

Solution:

Cost of \frac{1}{2}kg of sal = 40 paisa

1 kg = 1000 grams

\frac{1}{2} kg = 1000 \times \frac{1}{2} =500 g

So, cost of 500 gram of salt = 40 paisa

100 paisa = Re.1

40 paisa =\frac{40}{100}=0.4

So,  cost of 500 gram of salt = 0.4 paisa

Cost of 100 gram of salt = \frac{0.4}{500} \times 100 =0.08

Hence the cost of 100 g of salt is Rs.0.08
