Hey dear here is your answer

This word problem related to linear equations in one varibles.
Read the problem carefully and convert it into linear equation.

Let the number = x

1 / 3 rd of the number = x / 3

2 / 7 of the number = 2x / 7

Relation given is ,

1 / 3 of the number exceeds its 2 / 7 by 1.

x / 3 - 2x / 7 = 1

L C M of 3 and 7 = 3 × 7 = 21

( 7x - 6x ) / 21 = 1

x / 21 = 1

Multiply both sides with 21 we get

21 × x / 21 = 1 × 21

x = 21

Therefore
Required number = x = 21
