 \frac{1}{4}  + 5 \:  = a - b \sqrt{5}

 \frac{1}{4}  + ( \sqrt{5}  \times  \sqrt{5} ) = a - b \sqrt{5}

By comparing both side

a \:  =  \frac{1}{4}

b \:  =  \sqrt{5}
