Let younger sister's age be x, and that of the elder one be y,
Then, ATQ,
x/(y+1)=0.5/1
⇒x/(y+1)=1/2
⇒2x=y+1 ----------(i)
Now, ATQ,
(x-2)/y=1/3
⇒3(x-2)=y
⇒3x-6=y--------(ii)
Subtracting (i) from (ii),
x-6=-1
⇒x=5
Thus, age of younger sister is 5.
