let x=1

p(x) = a(1) ^3+1^2-2(1) +b

p(x) = a+1-2+b

p(x) =a-1+b..... (1)

let x=-1

p(x) =a(-1) ^3+(-1) ^2-2(-1) +b

p(x) = -a+1+2+b

p(x) =-a+3+b.... (2)

by add (1) and (2).

a-1+b

-a+3+b

=4+2b

=2b=-4

=b=-2

put above values in (1) equation

p(x) =a-1+(-2)

p(x) =a-1-2

p(x) = a-3

p(x) = a=3

so values of a=3

b=-2
