Given:

One bucket of water can contain 8 jugs of water.

One jug of water can contain 4 glasses of water.

To find:

Capacity of bucket in terms of glasses.

Solution:

Let J represent jug, G represent glass and B represent bucket.

One jug of water can fill 4 glasses which can be numerically written as

1J=4G

To find the number of glasses that can hold 8 jugs of water, multiply 8 with the no. of glasses of water that can fill 1 jug.

8 × 1J=8J

8 × 1J=8 × 4G

8J=32G

Hence, 8 jugs of water can fill 32 glasses of water.

And, 8 jugs fill 1 bucket of water.

32 glasses of water can fill 1 bucket.
