If -1 is 0 of the polynomial ax³ - x²+x+4 find the value of a.

║⊕ANSWER⊕║

Given equation

ax^{3} - x^{2} +x+4

-1 is the zero of the polynomial

Substituting x = -1

a(-1)^{3}  - (-1)^{2} + (-1) + 4 = 0\\-a - 1 -1 + 4 = 0\\-a + 2 = 0\\-a = -2

a = 2
