ab = 3

        ay2 + ay + 3 = 0 -------- (1)

          y2 + y + b = 0 -------- (2)

         By substituting the value of y in (1),

     a(1)2 + a(1) + 3 = 0

     2a = -3

       ∴ a = -3/2

       By substituting the value of y in (2),

         (1)2 + 1 +b = 0  

       ∴ b = -2    

           

Ans – The value of ab = -3/2 × -2 = 3
