as 1 is root then

⇒a(1) 2 +a(1)+3=0

⇒a+a=−3

⇒2a=−3

⇒a=−3/2

y 2 +y+b=0

⇒(1) 2 +1+b=0

⇒2+b=0

⇒b=−2

∴ab=− 3/2 ×−2=3

Answer= 3
