f(x)=x2-7x-8
by middle term splitting,
x2-8x+x-8
=x(x-8)+1(x-8)
=> x=-1 and x=8

Aakruti001: u have to find zero not to do factorisation
hitesh7878: if you put the value of x i.e. 8 you will get f(x)=0

Answer:

8

Step-by-step explanation:

consider the equation x^2 - 7x - 8

Using Factorization Method Or Middle term splitting

You will get

x^2 - 8x- 1x - 8

Hence the factor formed are

(x - 8) (x +1)

Given that -1 as a factor we conclude that the other factor of the given polynomial is 8(positive)

NOTE the factor in the bracket change sing as we use or explain further.
