Answer:

Here,

p(x) =ax² -3(a-1)x - 1

and also given that 1 is a zero of this p(x)

So,

 \bold{  p(1) → a.1² - 3(a -1).1 -1 =0}

 \bold{→ a - 3(a -1)-1 =0}

 \bold{→ a - 3a  + 3-1 =0}

\bold{→  - 2a   + 2=0}

\bold{→2a = 2}

\bold{→    \large\boxed{\bold{a =1}}}
