let the bill amount be x
ATQ,
x - (10/100*x) = 45

Answer:

The bill was Rs.50.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : If 10% of an electricity bill is reduced Rs.45 is still to be paid.

To find : How much was the bill ?

Solution :

Let the amount of the bill is Rs. x.

There is 10% reduced in the electricity bill.

i.e. A=x-10\%\text{ of }x

A=x-0.1x

A=0.9x

The amount to be paid is Rs.45

So, 0.9x=45

x=\frac{45}{0.9}

x=50

Therefore, The bill was Rs.50.
