Answer:

Answer:

They need 80 days to dig the given deep trench.

Given:

If 100 men working 8 hours a day can dig 160m long, 6m broad and 4 metre deep trench in 24 days,

To find:

In how many days 180 men working 10 hours a day will take to dig 450m long, 4 m broad and 3 m deep trench

Solution:

Comparing the two cases, by variation,

= \frac{(men \times days \times hours)}{area of the trench}

areaofthetrench

(men×days× hours)

The above equation is equated,

Hence = \frac{(100 \times 24 \times 8)}{(160 \times 6 \times 4)}

(160×6×4)

(100×24×8)

= \frac{(180 \times x \times 10)}{(450 \times 4 \times 3)}=

(450×4×3)

(180×x×10)

x = 80 days.
