if 100 ml of solution is made by mixing 50 ml of water and 50 ml of alcohol then which one of them is solvent and which is solute.....give reason

Alcohol and water are miscible, meaning they can be mixed in any proportion to form a homogeneous mixture. There's little point in talking about which is the solvent and which is solute. you could say it's alcohol in water, water in alcohol or a mixture of alcohol and water
