Solution :-

100 persons had food provision for 24 days. For how many days the food will be provided to 80 persons.

This case is a clear case of inverse proportion. Because if the persons decreases then the food will be provided for more number of days.

Let the required number of days be 'x'.

⇒ 100*24 = 80*x

⇒ x = 2400/80

⇒ x = 30 Days

So, the food will be provided to 80 persons for 30 days.

Solution:

Let x be the number of person & y be the number of days the food last.

when the number of person decreases then the number of days the food last increases.

Hence, it is a case of inverse variation

x1 y1=x2 y2

100× 24=80× y2

80 × y2=100×24

y2 = (100 × 24)/80

y2= 10 × 3 = 30

y2=30 days

Hence, the food will last for 30 days.
