Answer : The pressure of mixture will be, 500 torr

Solution :

According to Boyle's law, the pressure of the gas is inversely proportional to the volume of the gas at constant temperature.

The formula used for mixture of gases will be,

P_AV_A+P_BV_B=P_MV_M

where,

P_A = pressure of gas A = 600 torr

P_B = pressure of gas B = 800 torr

V_A = volume of gas A = 1000 ml = 1 L

V_B = volume of gas B = 500 ml = 0.5 L

P_M = pressure of mixture

V_M = volume of mixture = 2 L

Now put all the given values in the above formula, we get the pressure of mixture.

600tor\times 1L+800torr\times 0.5L=P_M\times 2 L

P_M=500torr

Therefore, the pressure of mixture will be, 500 torr

Answer:

Answer : The pressure of mixture will be, 500 torr

Solution :

According to Boyle's law, the pressure of the gas is inversely proportional to the volume of the gas at constant temperature.

The formula used for mixture of gases will be,

where,

= pressure of gas A = 600 torr

= pressure of gas B = 800 torr

= volume of gas A = 1000 ml = 1 L

= volume of gas B = 500 ml = 0.5 L

= pressure of mixture

= volume of mixture = 2 L

Now put all the given values in the above formula, we get the pressure of mixture.

Therefore, the pressure of mixture will be, 500 torr
