let the number = x

11 % of the number = 11x / 100

7 % of the the number = 7x/ 100

According to the problem,

11% of a number is exceeds 7% is 18

write the above statement into equation form

11x /100 - 7x / 100 = 18

(11x - 7x ) /100 = 18

⇒ 4x / 100 = 18

⇒ x = (18 /1 ) × ( 100 / 4 )

after cancellation,

x = 450

Required number = x = 450

Answer:

Hey Hi

Given 11%of a number exceeds 7% of a number by 18

Thus 4% of the number is 18

Thus 100% will be 18×25 = 450

Thus the number is 450

Hope this helps
