To find : the value of x.

Given : 12 , 18 , x \ and\  39 are in proportion .

Solution :

  • As we can see that in the given ratio of proportion one of the  ratio is missing.
  • To find missing ratio we can write 12: 18:: x: 39

        as, \frac{12}{18}=\frac{x}{39}

  • Transposing like terms we get,

     $$\Rightarrow \quad x=\frac{12 \times 39}{18}$$

  • On simplifying we get,

     $$\begin{array}{l}\Rightarrow x=2\times 13 \\\Rightarrow x=26\end{array}$$

Hence, value of x is 26 .

Answer:

The value of $x$ is 26 .

Step-by-step explanation:

The given ratio of proportion one of the  ratio is missing.

12,18,x and 39

To find missing ratio

So, it can write as $12: 18:: x: 39$

So, \frac{12}{18}=\frac{x}{39}$

Transposing like terms,

\Rightarrow \ x=\frac{12 \times 39}{18}

\Rightarrow x=2 \times 13

\Rightarrow x=26

Hence the value of x is 26.
