Solution:

The formula shows relation between the energy is

E=E'z(1/n'² - 1/n"²)

n'=2

n"=∞

z=1

Putting the values in above formula

E=12.6×1×(1/4 - 1/∞)

E=12.6/4

E=3.1 eV

So the energy required in removing electron is 3.1 eV
