If 12 men and 16 boys can do a piece of work in 5 days and 13 men and 24 boys can do it in 4 days compare the daily work done by a man with that done by a boy

⇒ 12m + 16b = 1/5  .........(1)

13 men and 24 boys can do it in 4 days

⇒ 13m + 24b = 1/4  .........(2)

On solving equations (1) and equation (2)

⇒ m = 2b

Hence, A man can do twice as much work as a boy.
