Step-by-step explanation:

In 16 days working 8 hrs work is completed by 12 men

So in 1 day working 8 hrs work is completed by 12×16 men

In 1 day working 1 hr work is completed by 12 ×16×8

in 8 days working 12 hrs work is completed by 12×16×8÷(8×12)

=16

So more men required =16

Given,

12 men complete a task in 16 days working 8 hours a day

To Find,

The number of men required to complete task in 8 days if all of them work for 12 hours a day =?

Solution,

Case 1:

Total men(m1) = 12

Total days(d1) = 16

Time(t1) = 8 hours a day

The work done by 12 men =m1*d1*t1

Case 2:

Let the number of men required to complete task in 8 days if all of them work for 12 hours a day be m2

Now, the time(t2) = 12 hours a day

Total days(d2) = 8 days

Word done = 12 * 8 *m2

The work done is the same in both cases.

Therefore,

m1*d1*t1 = m2*d2*t2

12*16*8 = 8*12*m2

m2 = 12*16*8/(8*12)

m2 = 16 men

Hence, if the same task must be completed in 8 days, 16 people would be required if all them work for 12 hours a day.
