Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

x - 125 = 175 - x

⇒ x + x = 175 + 125

⇒ 2x = 300

⇒ x = \frac{300}{2}

⇒ x = 150

I hope it helps u dear friend

Given:

AP sequence : 125, x, 175

To find:

value of x = ?

Solution:

We know that for an arithmetic progression, the common difference is same when we subtract first term with second term, second term with third term.

Note: We took x as first in LHS and x as second in RHS because x is greater than first term and less than third term

So equalizing,

x - 125 = 175 - x

x + x = 175 + 125

2x = 300

x = 300/2

x = 150

Answer:

Thus, value of x = 150 for sequence 125 , x, 175

Knowledge booster:

  1. General formula for Arithmetic progression is tn = a + (n - 1) d
  2. where, a = first term, d = common difference, n = 1,2,3.., tn = term of given n
