AnsWer :

3Ω.

Correct QuestioN :

If 12Ω and 4Ω resistors are connected in parallel and 12 voltage potential difference is applied then, Find the effective resistence.

SolutioN :

Let,

  • R1 = 12Ω.
  • R2 = 4Ω.
  • V = 12v.

Condition : R1 and R2 resistors connected in parallel combination.

★ 1 / Rp = 1 / R1 + 1 / R2 + 1 / R3 + ... + 1 / Rn.

→ 1 / Rp = 1 / 12 + 1 / 4

→ 1 / Rp = 1 + 3 / 12.

→ 1 / Rp = 4 / 12.

→ 1 / Rp = 1 / 3

→ Rp = 3Ω.

Therefore, the value of effective resistance is 3Ω.

More InformatioN :

We know, Ohm's Laws

★ V = IR.

  • V ( Voltage )
  • I ( Current )
  • R ( Resistance )

→ V = IR.

→ 12 = I ( 3 )

→ 12 / 3 = I

→ I = 12 / 3

→ I = 4A.

Therefore, the value of current passing through given circuit is 4A.

Answer:

Explanation:

12 ohms resistor is connected in parallel to other resistor of 4 ohms

Potential difference = 12 volts

Equivalent resistance when 12 ohm and 4 ohm is connected in parallel :

1/ total Resistance = 1/12 + 1/4

1/total R = 4/12

1/total R= 1/ 3

total resistance = 3ohms

V=IR

12=I×3

I= 12/3

I = 4 Amperes

The current is equal to 4 Amperes
