x-y=-29/24

Step-by-step explanation:

Let 13x-19y=28..........(1)

&

19x-13y=44...........(2)

Therefore add eqn (1) and (2)

(13x-19y)+(19x-13y)=28+44

i.e 32x-32y=72

÷above eqn by 8

therefore 4x-4y=9............(3)

Subtract eqn (2) from (1)

(13x-19y)-(19x-13y)=28-44

13x-19y-19x+13y=28-44

i.e -6x-6y=-16

÷ above eqn by 2

Therefore -3x-3y=-8.........….......(4)

Multiply eqn (3) by 3

3(4x-4y=9)

12x-12y=27........ (5)

multiply equation (4)by 4

4(-3x-3y=-8)

-12x-12y=-32.............(6)

Add eqn (5) and (6)

(12x-12y)+(-12x-12y)=27-(-32)

i.e 12x-12y-12x-12y=27+32

-12y-12y=69

-24y=69

y=-69/24

put y=-69/24 in eqn (4)

-3x-3×69/24=-8

-3x= -64+69

x=-5/3

Therefore x-y= -29/24
