Answer:

21 workers are required for doing this work in 12 days.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given-:

Number of workers in 18 days =14

Number of workers in 1 day = 18*14

Logic-:

This is in indirect proportion, as if the number of workers will be more then the number of days taken by them will be less and if the number of workers will be less then more days will be taken to complete the work.

Therefore-:

Number of workers in 12 days

=> 18 * 14/12

=> 3 * 7

=> 21 workers

Here-:

We have to divide because as the days are more then there might be less workers.

AnswEr :

There are two types of relation :

  • Direct relation : If one quantity increases then the other also increases and if one quantity decreases then the other also decreases.

Example - If 2 toffee cost Rs 6, then what will be the cost of 5 toffee ?

» 2 toffee cost Rs 6

» 1 toffee will cost Rs 6/2 = Rs 3 (Divide)

» 5 toffee will cost Rs 3*5 = Rs 15 (Multiply)

  • Inverse relation : If one quantity increases then the other decreases and if one quantity decreases then the other increases.

Example - This question itself is the example of inverse relation. Here first we will do multiplication and then division.

Let's Head to the Question Now :

⇒ 18 Days taken by = 14 workers

⇒ 1 Day will taken by = 14 × 18

⇒ 12 Days taken by = (14 × 18) / 12

⇒ 12 Days taken by = 7 × 3

12 Days taken by = 21 workers

21 workers will finish the work in 12 days.
