Given :

15.0 L of neon at 25.0 °C which is allowed to expand to 45.0 L

To Find :

New Temperature which can maintain constant pressure = ?!

Solution :

Let's solve this !

  • As we know ! V = NRT

That means PV = NRT

P = NRT / V

P = 1 mol × 0.0821 × 298k / 151

P = 1.63 Atom

  • Now let's Move forward !

T = PV/ NR

T = 1.63 Atom × 451 / 1 mol × 0.0821

T = 893 K

  • Convert K into °C

893 K = 620°C

So, The new temperature to maintain the constant temperature is 620°C .

Answer:

If

Known and Unknown

V₁ = 15.0 L

T₁ = 25 °C + 273.15 = 298.15 K

V₂ = 45.0 L

T₂ = ? K

Solve for T₂.

T₂ = V₂T₁/V₁

T₂ = (45.0 L × 298.15 K)/(15.0 L) = 894 K
