Step-by-step explanation:

Well, with 3 instead of 15 workers, only one fifth as much of the work can be done per day. Therefor it should take five times as long, or 12×5= 60 days.

ANOTHER METHOD.

Think in terms of man-hours, but change units to suit the problem. There are 12×15 or 180 boy-day of work to be done. But with just 3 boys, it takes 180÷3 or 60 days to do it. ‍‍

Answer:

This will take five times as long, or 12 × 5 = 60 days.

Step-by-step explanation:

From the above question,

Divide the quantity of work (476) through the range of boys (15) to get the quantity of work every boy ought to do:

                   476 / 15 = 31.73

Divide the new range of boys (16) via the range of hours they will work every day (9):

                    sixteen / 9 = 1.78

Multiply the two numbers (31.73 x 1.78) to get the whole range of days required to entire the work:

                   31.73 x 1.78 = 56.48 (rounded up to 60 days)

Hence ,

This will take five times as long, or 12 × 5 = 60 days.
