if 15% of 60 is greater than 25% of number by 3 then find the number​

Given:

15% of 60 is greater than 25% of the number by 3.

To find:

The number.

Solution:

Let the required number be x.

Now,

15% of 60

 =  \frac{15}{100}  \times 60

 = 9

Also,

25% of x

 =  \frac{25}{100}  \times x

 =  \frac{1}{4} x

Now,

according to the question,

15% of 60 - 25% of x = 3

 = 9 -  \frac{1}{4} x = 3

After multiplying 4 on both sides, we get

36 - x = 12

On solving the above, we get

x = 36 - 12

x = 24

Hence, the required number is 24.
