if 15 percent of 40 is greater than 25 percent of 2, then what is the no.

then the number is..

15 percent of 40+ 25 percent of 2

=(15/100x40)+(25/100x2)

=6+1/2
=(12+1)/2=13/2 ans

let the number be x.
so,
$\frac{15}{100} \times 40 - \frac{25}{100} \times x = 2$
$\frac{30}{5} - \frac{1}{4} \times x = 2$
$6 - \frac{x}{4} = 2$
$- \frac{x}{4} = 2 - 6$
$\frac{x}{4} = 4$
$x = 4 \times 4$
$x = 16$
so,
the number is 16.
