then the number is..

15 percent of 40+ 25 percent of 2

=(15/100x40)+(25/100x2)

=6+1/2
=(12+1)/2=13/2 ans

let the number be x.
so,
 \frac{15}{100} \times 40 - \frac{25}{100} \times x = 2
 \frac{30}{5} - \frac{1}{4} \times x = 2
6 - \frac{x}{4} = 2
 - \frac{x}{4} = 2 - 6
 \frac{x}{4} = 4
x = 4 \times 4
x = 16
so,
the number is 16.
hope this help u my dear friend....:)))

nandini102: welcome
