21 workers

Note: The question is based on the topic inverse proportions.

Given:

     15 workers can finish a task in 42 hours.

To find: No.of workers needed to  complete the task in 30 hours.

Let x be the no.of workers needed to complete the task in 30 hours.

Then,

15 workers -- 42 hours

x workers -- 30 hours

By inverse proportions,

15×42 = x × 30

630 = x × 30

x = 630/30

x = 21

No.of workers needed to complete the task in 30 hours = 21 workers
