p(x) = 2x⁴ + qx³ + 3x + p
- 1 = 2(-1)⁴ + q(-1)³ + 3(-1) + p
- 1 = 2 - q - 3 + p
- 1 - 2 + 3 = p - q
0 = p - q -------(1)

1 = 2(1)⁴ + q(1)³ + 3(1) + p
1 = 2 + q + 3 + p
- 4 = p + q --------(2)

On adding botg equation we get

- 4 = p

Keep value of p in eqn 2

- 4 = p - q
- 4 + 4 = - q
0 = q

Hence, p + q => - 4 + 0 = - 4
