GIVEN :

 \\ \:\:{\huge{.}} \: \: \bf \sqrt{2} = 1.414 \\

TO FIND :

 \\ \:\:{\huge{.}} \: \: \bf Value \: \: of \: \: \sqrt{8} + \sqrt{50} = ? \\

SOLUTION :

• Let suppose that –

 \\ \implies \bf y = \sqrt{8} + \sqrt{50} \\

• We should write this as –

 \\ \implies \bf y = \sqrt{4 \times 2} + \sqrt{25 \times 2} \\

 \\ \implies \bf y = \sqrt{4 } \sqrt{ 2} + \sqrt{25} \sqrt{ 2} \\

 \\ \implies \bf y = \sqrt{2}( \sqrt{4 } + \sqrt{25})\\

• We know that –

 \\ \:\:{\huge{.}} \: \: \bf \sqrt{4} = 2 \\

 \\ \:\:{\huge{.}} \: \: \bf \sqrt{25} = 5 \\

• So that –

 \\ \implies \bf y = \sqrt{2}(2+5)\\

 \\ \implies \bf y = 7\sqrt{2}\\

• According to the question –

 \\ \implies \bf y = 7(1.414)\\

 \\ \implies \large{ \boxed{ \bf y = 9.898}}\\
