(2.3)^x=10^3

2.3=10^3/x___(1)

(0.23)^y=1000

(0.23)^y=10^3

0.23=10^3/y

0.23*10=10^3/y*10

2.3=10^3/y+1___(2)

from equation 1 and 2

10^3/x=10^3/y+1

bases are equal so equate the powers

3/x=3/y+1

3/x-3/y=1

3(1/x-1/y)=1

1/x-1/y=1/3
