Given :

Foot of the perpendicular = (2, -3)

Point from where perpendicular drawn = (-4, 5)

To find :

Equation of line

Solution :

• Slope of perpendicular, m = 5 - (-3) / -4 - 2

m = 8 / (-6) = -4/3

Now, we know that

m × m' = -1

where m' = slope of line

(-4/3) × m' = -1

m' = 3/4

• We are also given one point on line i.e (2, -3)

Equation of line is,

y - (-3) = (3/4)×(x - 2)

y + 3 = (3/4)×(x -2)

4(y + 3) = 3×(x - 2)

4y + 12 = 3x - 6

4y - 3x - 18 = 0
